Enhanced Public Safety
Some of our neighborhoods experience frequent crime ranging from mailbox theft, car theft to more serious violent crimes. Everyone, no matter their address, deserves to live in a safe neighborhood!
What I’ve done so far:
I’ve prioritized investments that improve the underlying conditions in our neighborhoods—because I believe the biggest way to reduce crime is to eliminate poverty.

That means focusing on infrastructure, housing, jobs, and youth opportunity. I've secured funding neighborhood improvements, and I am working to ensure that residents have access to long-term stability through career growth, strong education, and affordable housing.

I’ve championed developments that bring jobs and housing into areas long ignored by private investment, while ensuring those efforts are tied to public benefit. I’ve also backed violence prevention programs and neighborhood-based solutions to address root causes like housing insecurity, economic disconnection, and lack of access to care.
What I’ll do next:
I’ll continue collaborating with community organizations tackling the root causes of crime—supporting efforts that address homelessness, gun violence, youth engagement, reentry services, and access to mental and physical healthcare.

I’m also committed to expanding investments in neighborhoods experiencing repeated public safety issues. That means not just reacting to crime, but addressing the conditions that allow it to take root.

Whether it’s building stronger community infrastructure or increasing access to resources that stabilize families, I’ll continue to lead with a public safety strategy grounded in prevention, investment, and dignity.
